Wedding Information for Couples (2026)

WELCOME & OUR TEAM:

We are really looking forward to working closely with you to plan your wedding at Ashley Park House. We love hosting relaxed, happy celebrations, and it’s always an exciting time for us to welcome couples and their families.

In the month before your wedding, we will work closely with you to finalise all of the finer planning details to ensure everything flows smoothly and feels effortless on the day.

Margaret, Lucy Kleboe and Colleen are all experienced wedding planners and coordinators, and you can be assured that they are here to guide and support you every step of the way — both in the lead-up to your wedding and on the day itself.

2026 Update:
We are delighted to share that Margaret’s son Sam and his wife Lucy Mackenzie will also be joining the Ashley Park House team in 2026, following their wedding here on 31.12.2025.

Behind the scenes, we have a fantastic team across front of house, housekeeping, wait staff, bar staff, kitchen and gardens, all dedicated to looking after you and your guests throughout your stay.

YOUR LIVE WEDDING EVENT PLAN (SHAREPOINT LINK):

Your wedding planning details are managed through a live SharePoint Wedding Event Plan document.

  • Please keep this document updated, as our team can view your changes in real time.
  • If you are using your own planning document, all details must be transferred to the live file at least one month before your wedding date.
  • Final updates should be completed at least two weeks before your wedding, when we will schedule a WhatsApp call to chat through the full flow of the day.
  • The live file will be locked a few days before your wedding. Any last-minute changes after this point must be emailed clearly to the office.

If you have any queries at any stage, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email.

TASTER MEALS 2026:

Our 2026 taster meal dates have been shared in a recent email. Please note that we cannot guarantee additional taster dates later in the year, as we will be hosting weddings throughout the season.

Your taster meal is designed to be a relaxed and enjoyable evening, allowing you to taste your selected menu choices and sample our house wines.

  • Complimentary taster meals are offered to the wedding couple when 150+ adult guests are attending the wedding.
  • For all other couples, and for additional guests joining you, the cost is €55 per person.
  • The taster meal consists of full-size portions, exactly as served on your wedding day:
    • Starter
    • Soup or sorbet
    • Main course
    • Dessert
  • A selection of our house wines will also be available to taste.

You’re very welcome to make a night of it — whether as a date night or a family dinner — and to avail of our special Taster Night B&B Stay.

Please refer to the 2026 Wedding Wine List for full details.

MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT

EVENING MUSIC & BANDS:

We ask that as soon as you have booked your band/DJ/BBQ musician you email them the Ashley Park House Music link: www.ashleypark.com/music

All bands and DJs must plug into our in-house sound system. Please contact us before paying a deposit if your band or DJ is not on our recommended suppliers list, so we can confirm logistics and suitability.

Your band will begin promptly at the end of your meal, so additional entertainment at this time is generally not required, as it shortens the band’s performance.

  • With the Late Venue Option, live bands may play until 12.00am and DJs until 2.00am.
  • Please check with us before booking any pre-dinner or pre-band entertainment, as not all options work well within the flow of the day.
  • For BBQ weddings, outdoor music must be acoustic only, with no amplification (e.g. guitar only, no speakers). Indoor music is not affected by these restrictions. You are welcome to use our Bluetooth speaker outside throughout the day.

Suggested BBQ indoor music start times:

  • May – August: from 9.30pm
  • September: from 8.00pm
  • October – April: from 7.30pm

CEREMONY & DRINKS RECEPTION MUSIC:

For ceremony music in the Boathouse and during the drinks reception, we recommend acoustic musicians such as harpists, guitarists or cellists. The acoustics in the Boathouse are excellent.

  • Ashley Park House does not provide a speaker or microphone in the Boathouse.
  • If required, celebrants or musicians are welcome to bring their own speaker or microphone.
  • DJs, DJ & saxophone duos, drum shows and electronic music are not permitted outdoors.

If you choose not to book a musician for the drinks reception, we can play a Spotify playlist through our in-house surround sound system at no additional charge.

BARS & DRINKS

BAR OPENING & LATE NIGHT OPTION:

  • The House Bar / Drinks Reception Bar is open during the drinks reception only.
  • The Pavilion Bar operates during the evening celebration.

The Late Night Venue Extension Fee is €500, allowing the Pavilion Bar to remain open from 12.30am to 3.00am.

For BBQ weddings:

  • The bar closes at 11.00pm, or
  • You may opt for the Late Venue Extension, with the bar open until 1.00am.

BAR TABS & DRINK TOKENS:

Drink tokens work very well and are a popular option.

  • Tokens can be placed at each place setting and exchanged for one standard drink. See example here. For personalized wording please email kathy@brennanprint.com
  • Alternatively, you may choose to set up a bar tab (open bar) for the drinks reception or later in the evening for the pavilion bar.
  • Bar tabs and drink tokens are payable by card upon check-out (cash payments are not accepted).

Please note:

  • Bottles of alcohol are not permitted as table favours.
  • Ashley Park House does not sell cigarettes, vapes/e-cigarettes or any other tobacco products.

DRINKS RECEPTION, WEDDING WINE, PROSECCO & CHAMPAGNE TOWERS:

If you wish to have a Prosecco or Champagne tower:

  • You must provide your own glasses. We recommend: click here.
  • For a 32-glass tower, we recommend six bottles of Prosecco or Champagne.
  • We can provide the Prosecco/Champagne, or a corkage rate can be discussed if you wish to supply your own.
  • We suggest the tower pour takes place during the drinks reception, outside the front of the main house.

Please note that if you are bringing your own Wedding Dinner Wine and paying corkage that this will be served during the meal service only. We don’t serve corkage paid wedding dinner wine after the meal.

The drinks provided for the drinks reception are not unlimited. The House Bar is open as a guest pay bar during the drinks reception. We can discuss bar tab options.

ACCOMMODATION & BED & BREAKFAST RATES – 2026:

Our 2026 bed and breakfast rates are now confirmed as follows:

  • Double/Twin Room (two guests sharing): €99 per person per night
    (€198 per room per night)
  • Two Single Occupancy Rooms: €120 per person per night
(Additional single occupancy rooms are charged at the double occupancy rate. We can discuss a sliding scale rate closer to your wedding when you know how many single occupancy rooms you require.)
  • Family Rooms (three or more adults): €90 per person per night
  • Children sharing a family room with parents:
    • Up to 10 years: €20 per child per night
    • 11–17 years: €30 per child per night
  • Babies: No charge when using a travel cot
(Parents are asked to bring their own travel cot)

ROOM LISTS & GUEST INFORMATION:

  • Please add all guest names to the Accommodation List within your live event plan.
  • Include:
    • Full guest names
    • Ages of any children
    • One mobile contact number per room
  • Please highlight any rooms you wish to add to your final wedding invoice by highlighting it in green highlight.

We recommend noting on your invitations that onsite accommodation is limited and asking guests to contact you directly if they wish to stay onsite. Once rooms are allocated, guests do not need to contact Ashley Park House directly. Any direct enquiries received will be referred back to you.

CHECK-IN, CHECK-OUT & ARRIVAL TIMES:

  • Guest check-in: From 2.00pm onwards on the day of the wedding
    (Earlier arrival cannot be accommodated.)
  • Breakfast: Served in the Pavilion from 8.30am – 10.30am
  • Check-out & key return: Before 11.00am in the Pavilion
  • Payment for accommodation is made upon check-out

Important:
Please clearly state on your invitations that guest arrival to Ashley Park House is after 2.00pm at the very earliest. We are busy preparing for your wedding and may also have guests checking out that morning. You may also be doing first look photos and this ensures privacy for this special moment.

We can discuss earlier arrival for the bridal party to the Main House Dining Room for hair/make up preparations from 7.30am and a room for the groomsmen/wedding party to get ready in from 12.30pm when we chat through your final wedding plans.

ROOM ALLOCATION NOTE:

Castle Lodge is not suitable for elderly guests and is better suited to younger party guests. If you are planning a late-night sing-song in the Drawing Room, we recommend not allocating Main House Rooms 1, 2 and 3 to young children or elderly guests who may be light sleepers.

You can view photos of all onsite guest rooms via our Virtual Accommodation Tour to assist with room allocation.

FOOD ORDERS & DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

All food orders are taken in advance.

You may:

  • Include your menu with your invitations, please send them to us to check wording and allergen details or
  • We will send your menu to guests via a Google Form the week before your wedding, or
  • We will send the Google form link to you to send to your guests yourselves via email, WhatsApp or a wedding website.  Just let us know and we will forward your menu link to you.

We recommend collecting guest email addresses or mobile numbers with your invitations to avoid last-minute follow-ups.

MENU PLANNING & ALLERGENS:

Pre-ordering allows our chefs to:

  • Source the freshest ingredients
  • Cater properly for dietary requirements
  • Reduce food waste and support our environmental commitments

If you are including the menu with your invitations, please forward it to us first so we can review the wording and allergen information before it is sent to guests.

Our chefs cater for all dietary requirements. Guests are asked to highlight any serious allergies on the menu form. Where needed, we can adapt dishes (for example, gluten-free alternatives served without pastry).

We offer a silent vegetarian/vegan alternative for starter, main course and dessert.

COURSE OPTIONS & SUPPLEMENTS:

  • For the second course, please choose Soup OR Sorbet.
  • If offering guests a choice between soup or sorbet, a supplement of €2 per person applies (charged to all guests).
  • If you wish to serve both a soup course and a separate sorbet course, the additional course is €5 per person (charged to all guests).

FINAL MENU SUBMISSION:

Please add your final menu selections to your live SharePoint Event Plan at least one month before your wedding, including:

  • Wedding menu
  • Canapés
  • Late night food
  • BBQ menu (where applicable)

We recommend adding menu and wine choices shortly after your taster meal, while everything is fresh in your mind.

GUEST ARRIVAL & BRIDAL PARTY ACCESS

GUEST ARRIVAL TIMES (IMPORTANT):

Guest arrival to Ashley Park House is after 2.00pm at the very earliest.

We cannot accommodate earlier arrival, as:

  • Guests may be checking out that morning
  • Our team will be focused on setting up for your wedding
  • Early arrival can affect First Look photography

Please ensure this is clearly noted on your invitations.

BRIDAL PARTY & GETTING READY SPACES:

For the bridal and wedding party, we can offer:

  • Main House Dining Room as a private getting-ready space from 7.30am on the morning of your wedding
  • A second early check-in / getting-ready room from 12.30pm onwards for groomsmen or additional wedding party members
  • Breakfast and/or lunch options for the bridal party (available upon request)

If you are having an onsite ceremony and wish to have First Look or portrait photographs while guests arrive at the Boathouse for a 3.00pm ceremony, this can generally be facilitated from approximately 12.30pm–1.00pm onwards.

Please note that earlier access to the Wedding Suite cannot be guaranteed.

TRANSPORT & TAXIS

As Ashley Park House is located in a rural area, it is not possible to call taxis on the night without pre-booking.

  • Taxi and minibus services are in high demand during peak wedding season
  • Shuttle buses should be booked well in advance.  Please see the two shuttle bus companies we recommend here & here.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot arrange taxis late in the evening if requested

BOATHOUSE CEREMONY

The Boathouse Ceremony Room (photo here and here) is provided fully set up and offers a beautiful lakeside setting for your ceremony.

What We Provide

  • Chiavari chairs
  • Red velvet chairs for the bride and the groom
  • Carpet aisle runner
  • Two Chinese altar tables
  • Blossom trees

Please note that floral centrepieces, fresh flowers and lanterns are not provided for the altar tables. We recommend a simple floral centrepiece and, if you wish, a unity candle for the ceremony table.

SEATING LAYOUT & CAPACITY:

  • Seating is arranged with approximately 12–13 chairs per row on the left-hand side (looking towards the lake) and six chairs per row on the right-hand side.
  • For a wedding of 150 guests, this equates to approximately eight rows of chairs on each side of the aisle.
  • The Boathouse comfortably accommodates 180 guests.
  • Maximum capacity is 200 guests, subject to layout and approval.

We recommend a “less is more” décor style to allow the wedding couple & lake view to remain the focal point.

ROOM DETAILS:

  • Dimensions: 10m (L) x 10m (W) x 2.4m (H)
  • Heating and air conditioning are available.
  • If you or your florist supply your own aisle runner, it cannot be fixed to the floor with tape.

CONFETTI, SPARKLERS & FIREWORKS

As Ashley Park House is a nature reserve, home to birds and local wildlife, we kindly ask that only the following are used:

  • Permitted: Natural confetti such as dried flower petals or lavender buds (outside the Boathouse only)
  • Not permitted:
    • Confetti inside the Boathouse or Pavilion
    • Confetti cannons
    • Fireworks
    • Sky Lanterns
    • Glitter

Sparklers are permitted, but we ask that they are used responsibly and disposed of safely. During the summer it isn’t dark until late to note also.

PAVILION SETUP, TABLES & DÉCOR

PAVILION TABLE SETUP (PROVIDED BY APH):

The Pavilion tables are fully set up with:

  • White table linen and napkins
  • Tall vase with artificial greenery and white blossom
  • Hurricane vase with white candle
  • Vase of seasonal garden flowers
  • Table lamp

(Please refer to our setup photos and videos for examples.) Photos here, here , here and here. For a video please click here.

TABLE LAYOUT & NUMBERS:

You may choose from the following top table layouts:

For square tables, we recommend seating 12 guests (four on three sides).

PLACE CARDS & TABLE PLANS:

  • Place cards are recommended for the top table but are not required for all guest tables.
  • If you choose to use place cards for all tables, please arrange for someone to place these out on the day.

If preparing your own table plan:

  • Please ensure table numbers are clearly visible for all tables.
  • If using table names, include the table number alongside the name for ease of service.

APH have table numbers on all tables.

TABLE PLAN PRINTING & DISPLAY:

  • We recommend Brennan Print (Nenagh) for designing, printing and delivering table plan posters or cards.
  • Ashley Park House has an easel and frame available, with a second easel also available if needed.
  • We can also print your table plan on plain A5 pages if preferred.

ADDITIONAL STYLING & DECORATIONS

ITEMS WE CAN PROVIDE:

These items, along with other wedding items such as bathroom baskets or photo frames, may be delivered one to two days before your wedding.

All items must be:

  • Clearly labelled
  • Boxed by wedding
  • Ready for placement

Our team can place items if clearly labelled, but we do not offer full styling services.

EXTERNAL SUPPLIERS & STYLING NOTES:

  • Fees apply for:
    • Moving APH furniture to accommodate external supplier items
    • Unpacking and repacking external supplier crockery
  • A 360° spinning photo booth is not suitable for weddings of 140+ guests, as it requires removal of the sofa area. Please see the Pavilion dimensions here.

Please include florist contact details in your live event plan and ensure they are aware of the following:

  • Tall, slim candles are not permitted unless fully enclosed in tall glass vases
  • We recommend:
    • Pillar candles in hurricane vases
    • Floating candles in glass vessels
    • Any installations or styling elements must be removed before 7.00am the following morning, ahead of breakfast service.
  • Tealights must be fully contained, as they are a fire hazard
  • Candelabra-style candles require:
    • Tablecloth hire (e.g. Gocha Covered)
    • Delivery to APH at least two days before the wedding
    • Collection the day after the wedding

RESPONSIBILITY FOR STYLING ITEMS:

Our staff will focus on setting up the venue elements provided by Ashley Park House. If additional styling is required, we recommend assigning someone to manage this on the day.

All décor items must be removed the day after your wedding. We cannot store items, and anything left longer than two days will be disposed of. We strongly recommend allocating collection of sentimental items (such as heirloom cake toppers or ceremony candles) to a trusted member of the wedding party.

CAKE & CHEESE STACKS

Please be mindful of setup timing if your cake contains fresh cream or needs refrigeration.

  • Cakes or cheese stacks should be set up by your baker or a nominated person on the day of your wedding, ideally between 1.00pm and 2.00pm.
  • Cakes will remain in the Pavilion from setup until cake cutting, which typically takes place around 9.00pm.
  • Ambient temperature (particularly in summer or when heating is on) can affect cakes, so please let us know if any special arrangements are required.

We provide:

If you are not having a tiered wedding cake, you may wish to supply homemade cakes or traybakes. These can be stored in the kitchen and served as part of the late-night supper.

SPEECHES & TIMINGS

We recommend holding speeches after dinner, when guests are relaxed and settled.

ALTERNATIVE SPEECH OPTIONS:

  • On fine days, speeches can take place during the drinks reception from the steps of the main house, prior to the Call to Dinner.
  • Alternatively, speeches can be held before starters are served at 6.00pm sharp.

Please note that 6.00pm is a fixed dinner service time. There is no break in dinner service for speeches until dessert.

IMPORTANT TIMING NOTES:

  • If speeches before dinner exceed 10 minutes, an additional bottle of wine per table will be added to your invoice (approximately one glass per guest).
  • If speeches before dinner cause a delay to the 6.00pm food service:
    • A €300 charge will apply if speeches overrun by more than ten minutes.
  • Please ask speakers to provide estimated timings and to factor in pauses for laughter and applause.

As an alternative, speeches may be split between before dinner and during dessert, which works very well.

EQUIPMENT & ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • Ashley Park House can announce your entrance into the Pavilion to a song of your choice.
  • A walk-about microphone is available for speeches.
  • If hiring a Singing Waiter or Singing Chef, performances take place after dessert and speeches.
